Dancing Art

Rhonda Polen Wernick

Happiness is a journey, not a destination… (souza)

“Throughout the years I have always tried to paint the life experiences that have made me the happiest – my family, my dancing, the beauty of nature and friendship. Please take time to enjoy the journey.”

Rhonda Polen Wernick is well known across the US as the “Illustrator of Ballroom Dance” and owner of DancingArt.com. Wernick is also the author of two books on painting technique, Sophisticated Touch and Contours. The year 1990 brought to Rhonda the discovery of ballroom dance as she also began to compete. She then began combining her two passions by painting dancers and dance-themed works to replace the other subject matter she was painting at that time, as Rhonda puts it “Art That Moves You.” Wernick founded the company, DancingArt® (www.dancingart.com), which supplies dance and art enthusiasts with a wide range of products from originals & fine art prints to stationery & gift items.

Wernick’s work has appeared numerous times on the cover of Dancing USA magazine, as well as on numerous dance publications, book covers, CD covers and as part of a set design for the MGM movie “A Guy Thing”. Her graphic art and logo designs are seen at many studios and dance competitions around the US and Internationally! She has also created corporate images for The Vanderbilt Center for Women’s Imaging, Wang Vision Institute and Hearing Services of TN among others.

A new phase of her art has blossomed this past year, reflecting her love for flowers, which she photographs on location and grows in her garden, and friendship. Her latest works direct the passion inherent in her dance pieces to conversation among friends and the beauty of her garden’s bounty. Her technical skill, use of color and stroke and depth of feeling, combine to produce engaging images.

Rhonda has just completed 2 one-woman shows in Nashville, TN displaying her new images of conversation and garden and plans to expand showings in galleries throughout the US. You may find all of Rhonda’s artwork on her website www.dancingart.com or by calling 800.716.0080.
